KOSMO's VINYL of the Week:
This week we are in Atlanta of 1994 for TLC's "Waterfalls", produced by Organized Noize and first released on their "Crazy Sexy Cool" album in November 1994 by LaFace/Arista... TLC were an Atlanta based girl group made up of Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas and Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes (who was tragically killed in a car accident in Honduras in 2002). I cannot pretend that I really paid any serious attention to TLC until they released "Waterfalls" as a single. Produced by the same team that was working with Outkast, it struck me and still does, as a successor to the socially conscious records The Supremes made for Motown and I rushed out to buy the 12". Turns out that CeeLo Green is one of the backing vocalists !" KV
