KOSMO's VINYL of the Week:
This week we're 'atmospherically' in the Harlem of 1956 for Earl Bostic's version of "Harlem Nocturne" on Syd Nathan's King Records."... "There are supposedly 100s of recorded versions of "Harlem Nocturne", which was written in 1939, but this is the one I am most attached to. Earl Bostic was a journey-man alto sax player from Tulsa who went on something of a recording bender with King Records of Cincinnati. He recorded over 400 tunes for King and they released 9 LPs in 1959 alone ! If you're going to jump in, best start with a Best of." - KV
