August 18, 2021 (Atlanta, Georgia) -- The WADDI art gallery, 26 Waddell St NE ATL 30307, is pleased to host HERE&NOW, a group exhibition of US-based, immigrant artists, curated by Shawn Vinson/VINSONart in collaboration with Welcoming America to celebrate their 10th annual ‘Welcoming Week’.

The show runs from Sep 11 - Oct 15, with an all-day opening reception on Saturday, Sep 11 from 11am - 9pm.

The exhibition features Chinese-born, Clayton, Georgia based artist/educator Xie Caomin; photographer Hector Amador and artist/activist Yehimi Cambrón, both from Mexico; and five English artists: Atlantans Ruby Franklin and Ruth Franklin, Yorkshire-born/Chicago-based Michael Jackson and the Londoner-turned-New-Yorker, Kosmo Vinyl.

Since 2012, Welcoming Week has served as an annual campaign and celebration to showcase the growing movement of communities striving to be more welcoming places for all, including immigrants. This year’s Welcoming Week is from September 10-19 and the theme is Belonging Begins with US, which is an existing national campaign that aims to foster a more welcoming nation (and world!) where everyone can belong.
