The Real Frank Tee

HRH Queen Elizabeth II, artwork by Atlanta artist The Real Frank Tee, at Different Trains Gallery
'The Real Frank Tee' is a small clay figure taken from Athens, Georgia Artist Jack Logan's 'Bulk Babies' from the 1990s. Atlanta Artist Jeremy Conlon began appropriating the figure in some of his early works and then decided to use it as his 'professional name'.

Conlon was raised in 15 different states before ending up in Atlanta and he attended five high schools in two years before tapping out. He never attempted to create any visual art but he started collecting what he liked, spending almost all his earnings on art ranging from Victor Vasarely to Mr Brainwash. One day, he decided to take a photo of Frank and since has obsessed with creating something new almost every day. His works are politically neutral and pop-art based, however, color and simple things are what he is attracted to. To sum up any of the artworks would be just the same as he was told when buying art: "buy whatever makes you happy" - and that is what he makes. Having given away many pieces of art to whoever said they liked it over the years, Jeremy now gives the proceeds from sales of his art to the Atlanta Humane Society   There is nothing mysterious about this artist, he just believes we should do whatever makes us happy.
