KOSMO's VINYL of the Week:
This week we are down in the New Orleans of 1966 for Lee Dorsey's "Holy Cow", written and produced by Allen Toussaint and first released on the Amy label... "One of my greatest musical achievements was to persuade Lee Dorsey to take leave of running his breakers yard in New Orleans and go on a U.S. Tour opening for The Clash. When Lee arrived for the first show, we were all very excited and I went to check that he was well looked after. "What's his set list look like ?" asked Strummer. "The first four numbers are all Top Ten Hits !" I replied. He was wonderful, both on stage and off - a diamond geezer for sure and if you don't own any of his records - get some !!" - KV
