"I first heard this on a compilation CD recently sent to me from Manchester by my pal Dave Bennett. At first, I thought it was a new band who had decided to use a Ray Davies style vocal with a doo wop style backing. What a great idea, I thought, and what a refreshingly optimistic lyric in these cynical times. Turned out it is Ray Davies ! And that is about all I know. Is it a brand new version of an old song - I have no idea ? But I like it !" - KV
