KOSMO's VINYL of the Week:
This week I pick "Born For A Purpose" by Dr. Alimantado, from the "Sons Of Thunder" LP... "This used to be one of John Lydon (AKA "Rotten's) favourite records and is mentioned in the lyric of "Rudie Can't Fail" - "Like the doctor was born for a purpose". Anyone seriously interested in reggae should check out both "Sons Of Thunder" and "Best Dressed Chicken In Town", which are really compilations of Dr. Alimantado's early- mid 1970s output." - KV

KOSMO's VINYL of the Week:
"It Will Stand" by The Showmen... "I first heard "It Will Stand" by Jonathan Richman & The Modern Lovers on Beserkley and then someone (probably Ted Carroll) told me I should check out the original by The Showmen. When I did, I couldn't believe the vocal was by a young General Johnson, later of my beloved Chairmen of the Board on the Invictus label. What a voice !" - KV
KOSMO's VINYL of the Week:
"Shotgun" by Jr. Walker and the All Stars... "Sometimes I would deejay at a Clash show, usually one way out there somewhere when there wasn't too much else for me to do, and I would often open up with "Shotgun". Blasting through the P.A., it sounded monster. Got to be played loud this one." - KV
KOSMO's VINYL of the Week:
Dizzee Rascal, "Sittin' Here", from the album "Boy in da Corner"... "Dizzee Rascal is from my old London manor of Bow, in fact I still have family and loved ones living on the council estate (public housing) on Fern Street where he hails from. Some of the top playaz in the real Grime Scene were all based out of a record shop on the Roman Road, Bow, a market street that I think "Eastenders" is based on." - KV
KOSMO's VINYL of the Week:
"Shake Some Action" by the Flamin' Groovies... "When the whole Punk rock thing kicked off in London this was a big record on Seymour Stein's Sire label. The Flamin' Groovies had been around for a while and they had gone through a bit of a re-fit, but until "Shake Some Action", I had heard of them but never heard them. Should have been a hit." - KV
