KOSMO's VINYL of the Week:
"Buzz Saw" by The Turtles from their 1968 LP "The Turtles Present The Battle of the Bands"... "When I used to think of The Turtles I would think California hippies or T.Rex backing vocals, well this track sounds nothing like that. I discovered this on my own jukebox (loaned beyond return to my old pal Jules Balme) as a b-side. On the LP it's credited to the "band" The Fabulous Dawgs." - KV

KOSMO's VINYL of the Week:
Back to 1985 and Pogues "The Old Main Drag" from "Rum, Sodomy & The Lash"... "The Elvis Costello produced "Rum Sodomy & The Lash" (title courtesy of Winston Churchill) has always been my favourite Pogues' album - followed closely by the Joe Strummer produced "Hell's Ditch" (they're both worth owning). Shane MacGowan's imagined reflections of a one time teenage immigrant sex worker remain both poignant and biting." - KV
KOSMO's VINYL of the Week:
This weeks choice is from 2005 - "Dare" by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett's Gorillaz "Demon Days" LP with Shaun Ryder on vocals... "There was a time when you didn't have to wait long around our place before my boys were blasting Gorillaz again. Hats off to all involved for showing that the cartoon musical group idea had a lot more potential than Josie and the Pussycats suggested. Always been a fan of Shaun Ryder, although my preference was for Black Grape over Happy Mondays." - KV
KOSMO's VINYL of the Week:
"Don't Cut Off Your Dreadlocks" by Linval Thompson... "I'm sure the young Linval Thompson was thinking strictly Rasta, but over the years I have found this one to be a mighty metaphor too. Produced and introduced by Bunny 'Striker' Lee, Linval shows himself to be one of the great mid-1970s Jamaican vocal stylists and the album, later reissued as "Cool Down", will have you up and steppin'. The version/toast by U-Roy is top shelf too." - KV
